The port in North Shields (Newcastle) on the North East coast is the International Passenger Terminal for DFDS Seaways sailings from the UK to Holland, providing easy access to the rest of Europe.
DFDS Seaways operates daily overnight cruises from the UK to Amsterdam on the M.s. Princess of Norway and M.s. King of Scandinavia, for its popular mini cruise breaks, transport and holiday products. Holland is ideally located for access to the rest of Europe, with many passengers opting to cruise overnight, before continuing their journey to France, Germany, Belgium, Poland and beyond after a relaxing journey.
The port in Newcastle is easily accessible by road from both the city centre and also travelling from the south and north where you can travel through the Tyne Tunnel, using the A1 and A19. If driving from the south and using the tunnel you would be advised to allow some extra time on your journey, especially in summer as the tunnel can get quite busy.
The Newcastle port car park charges flat rates for car parking of £12 per day. You'd be advised to keep your parking ticket in a safe place as lost tickets cost £15 per day. Payment for your car parking is made when you exit.
